Building Futures

What Your Child Will Learn

On the way to earning a black belt, students develop skills that carry far beyond the mat.

Self-Discipline
Following instructions, waiting their turn, completing tasks — martial arts builds the internal discipline that transfers to school and home.
Confidence
Every belt earned is proof of effort. Students learn to set goals, work for them, and succeed — building lasting self-confidence.
Respect & Manners
“Yes sir, yes ma’am” is just the start. Students learn to respect instructors, peers, parents, and themselves.
Anti-Bullying
Our “talk away, walk away, run away” method teaches conflict resolution first. Physical self-defense is the last resort, not the first.
Academics
Report cards are checked before belt testing. Academic improvement counts as heavily as the grade itself — every child is evaluated individually.
Physical Fitness
Cardio, strength, flexibility, and endurance — all developed through martial arts training that keeps the mind sharp and the body healthy.
Our Philosophy

The Whole Child Development Method

GMA’s child development methods are based on the “whole child” principle — a time-tested approach refined over 50+ years. Physical development is just one part of growing a future leader. We address emotional, intellectual, social, and physical growth together.

Negative social issues grow every year. Bullying, screen addiction, confidence struggles, and academic pressure are magnified for today’s youth. At GMA, we address these challenges through counseling, parental support, and the reward of earned success — not just physical training.

By the time a student reaches black belt level, they’ve developed leadership skills, top academics, physical fitness, and the confidence to handle whatever life throws at them. Many of our former students have gone on to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, and leaders in their communities.

Inclusive Training

Special Needs Martial Arts Program

Every child deserves the opportunity to train. Our long-standing special needs program integrates all children into mainstream classes.

Autism ADHD / ADD Asperger’s Down Syndrome Cerebral Palsy Wheelchair Accessible

Countless young people with special needs have practiced martial arts at GMA, and many have attained black belt levels. The goal is to integrate all children into mainstream training, increasing their ability to function in everyday society.

Consistent communication between instructors, academic teachers, and parents is an integral part of the training. We work with each family to find the right approach for their child — because no two students are the same.

Common Questions

Kids Martial Arts FAQ

Children can start in our Little Lions program as young as age 3. This introductory program uses play-based learning to teach basic coordination, listening skills, and following directions in a fun, structured environment. By age 7, students transition to the full youth curriculum.

Yes. GMA has a long-standing special needs program serving children with Autism, ADHD, ADD, Asperger’s, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other needs. Our goal is to integrate all children into mainstream classes. Many special needs students have earned black belts at GMA.

The opposite. Our program emphasizes the “talk away, walk away, run away” method — conflict resolution comes first. Physical self-defense is taught as an absolute last resort. Students learn to respect others and value peaceful solutions while having the confidence to protect themselves if necessary.

Report cards are checked before every belt test. Academic improvement counts as heavily as the actual grade — every child is evaluated individually. By the time a student reaches black belt levels, top grades are expected. We believe martial arts and academics reinforce each other.

Monthly tuition ranges from $100 to $179 depending on the program and class frequency. Family discounts are available. Your first class is always free with no commitment. Visit our contact page to schedule a trial or call (731) 324-3847.
